• Day 72 – Cranberry, Pennsylvania

It was freezing this morning. Well, 3 degrees. That’s the coldest weather I’ve experienced since February 1st when I left Toronto! I was shivering uncontrollably for the first 200 or so kilometres. I stopped at a rest stop and fully suited up. I doubled up on socks and gloves, and put on my balaclava. I […]

  • Day 71 – Alabama to Sevierville, Tennessee

I went straight to the BMW dealer this morning. The part had arrived. Awesome. I chatted with the parts department guy for a bit, then installed the new tensioner and boogied. I was determined to make it to the Tail of the Dragon today. It’s a famous road that has 318 turns in 11 miles. […]

  • Day 70 – Louisiana to Birmingham, Alabama

Time to move on. I called the closest BMW dealer this morning, in Birmingham Alabama, and ordered my stupid clutch cable tensioner. I’ll arrive in Birmingham tonight, and pick up the part in the morning. Really uneventful day. It’s starting to cool down. I’m no longer hot while riding. Now I’m just warm. I’ve stopped […]

  • Day 69 – Austin, Texas to Shreveport, Lousiana

Sooo, about that 1000 mile ride…. Turns out BMW dealers down here are closed on Sundays AND Mondays. What’s up with that? By the time I got on the road, sans clutch cable tensioner, it was close to noon. Maybe I’ll join the Iron Butt Association some other time. I just couldn’t get into the […]

Day 69 – Austin, Texas to Shreveport, Lousiana

Welcome to my adventure. This site is dedicated to my latest trip from my home in Toronto, to Panama’s Darien Gap. This is a solo, motorcycle round-trip from the snowflakes in the north, to the warm sunshine in Central America. You can follow my blog, and I hope you will. I will attempt to post here every night. Hope you enjoy it, as much as I will. You can subscribe to the blog, as well you can track my daily progress as I check in with my SPOT tracker (find it on the sidebar).

*My trusty SPOT tracker doesn’t work anymore, or it chooses when it wants to work…(which I guess isn’t the safest thing)…anyhow, you can follow me along with the maps I am updating manually on the Route page.
